Community Supported Agriculture

In a nutshell a CSA is a way for consumers and farmers to connect. It’s an alternative economic model of agriculture and food distribution. As a CSA member you are joining a community of like minded people who are keen to see a shift in the current state of play for farmers and consumers.

We have two CSA types for you to choose from - or go with one of each! Our standard CSA includes meat (beef, pork, lamb and cured products) and eggs. We also have an egg only CSA, for anyone who doesn't eat meat, or is after a regular, reliable supply of delicious pasture raised eggs.

Community-supported agriculture, commonly referred to as a CSA, is a system that connects the producer (Farmer) and consumers in food production and consumption.

The basic concept is that a customer signs up as a CSA (farm) member, committing to a monthly share in the farm for a period of 12 months.

By consumers committing to a harvest of a certain farm, in this case Echo Valley, there are a number of benefits for both the farmer and the consumer;  it gives the consumer the chance to gain a greater sense of where their food comes from it creates community, engaging people in not just their food production system, but also with like minded individuals; the consumer receives a monthly box of fresh, nutrient dense and ethically produced food direct from a producer; it offers an alternative model of agriculture and food distribution that allows the producer and consumer to share both the risks and benefits of farming.

Becoming a CSA member is a 12 month commitment. We have some members who have been with us now for almost a decade - and see our CSA members as an extension of our farming family.

If you're not fully ready to commit to the 12 months, you can 100% order a trial box. Contact echovalleyorders@gmail.com to order your trial box as an example of what you would get each month.

The beauty of CSA membership is that you get a seasonal variety - so picking and choosing items is generally not encouraged. However, if you have an allergy, intolerance or avoided meat type for religious reasons, please let us know and we will accomodate these preferences and leave out anything that isn't suitable.

Anyone who is passionate about choosing an alternative pathway for consuming farm to table while supporting the farmer directly.
