These two varieties of rice are grown and processed under certified biodynamic conditions.
Brown rice is a whole grain - the hull is removed but the germ and bran remain intact, resulting in a richer texture, nuttier taste and higher fibre, vitamin and mineral content. Sourced by Sovereign Foods from Biodynamic Marketing Co, who have been working with Australian biodynamic farming families since 1981.
Slater Farms (Brett & Karen Slater) is the home of “Rainfed Rice”, a certified biodynamic farm where crops are naturally rain irrigated, saving critical water resources. Their white rice is a true multi-purpose rice, with its use case changing depending on how much you rinse it. Less rinsing for a sticker rice for risotto or sushi, or lots of rinsing (4 or 5 times is not excessive!) for a fluffier dish.
