Ugly Duck Fine Foods is a Brisbane-based artisan producer turning surplus, imperfect fruit into delicious small-batch pastes, relishes and preserves.

Founded by Michelle Mascher, Ugly Duck focuses on reducing food waste while creating flavour-packed products made without artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Pear & Pink Pepper - Smooth and mellow, ripe Stanthorpe-grown pears combined with the floral, smoky spice of pink peppercorns. The gentle spice provides a subtle savoury note without adding heat, balancing the natural sweetness of the pears. Pairs with strong cheeses such as blue or washed rind, it’s also delicious with roast meats or enjoyed as a sweet and savoury addition to everyday dishes.

Smokey Apple - Bold and smoky, ripe Stanthorpe-grown apples with a gentle natural smokiness. The rich, savoury depth balances the apples’ natural sweetness, creating a modern sweet-and-smoky flavour. Perfect with aged cheddar and sharp blue cheeses, or use it to add depth to grilled dishes, pulled-pork burgers and gourmet toasties.

Quince - Smooth and delicately sweet, this soft-set quince paste has a rich, fragrant fruit flavour with a subtle floral character. Made from ripe Stanthorpe-grown quinces, it offers a beautiful balance of sweetness and gentle acidity without overpowering the palate. A classic match for both soft and hard cheeses, it’s perfect for cheese boards or adding a touch of rich fruit flavour to savoury dishes.
